NARATHIWAT -- A man was killed and his wife seriously injured in a gun attack in Rueso district early Sunday, police said. Police investigation revealed that two men broke into the house, which was still under construction, and called the house owner by his name. When Maroning Dolonidir, 52, opened the door one of the intruders fired two shots at him with an M16 rifle. The armed man then walked into the room and fired one shot at Aeso Che-asae, 52, Maroning's wife, wounding her seriously. Police were investigating to find out if the attack was motivated by a personal conflict or related to insurgency.
